Hacking Rom not showing up

Hey guys, I'm relatively new to the scene and just had a question.

I followed this guide and completed it. I'm now able to boot into the RX emunand. The problem I have right now is that when I copy a .CIA file over to my SD card, it doesn't show up. Is there something I'm missing? Also, is there away just to play the .3ds file without converting it?

Have you checked to make sure it's a .cia by going to Folder Options > View > Uncheck "Hide extensions for known file types"
Also try making the name only contain numbers and letters, no symbols, commas, etc.

You have to actually install CIA files using FBI or BigBlueMenu. If the files are not showing up in either of those then I don't know what's wrong. If you want to play .3DS files you'll need a Gateway.

Thanks guys. I'm such a noob I did not even realize that FBI was launched from the health and safety icon. It is working now.
