Is it possible with RetroArch to save ingame and load the savestate later ingame? Like a real SNES for example. For example Secret of Mana, where you save when you sleep. Or will RetroArch delete these saves after restart of the Wii?

like all emulators retroarch will save the game normally.
though many dont use it because of savestates which place you exactly where you left off and persist through restart also

Retroarch saves fine. Savefiles go to /retroarch/savefiles and savestates to /retroarch/savestates. That's it.
