Looks much better in motion.

About DLC:
"At the moment no, we haven't got any plan (for DLC). If the users want that we will endeavour to make it happen. We're always monitoring the comments and feedback from users. (As for Leon) He's all tied up for Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City. He couldn't make his appearance in Mercenaries." - Resident Evil producer Masachika Kawata[/p]

Let the hype begin.

I'm looking forward to this game very much, as it will be something to finally showcase the power of 3DS. Also, reportedly, the 3D effect is implemented spot-on (someone was raving about how great the laser beam casted on enemies to assist aiming looked).

However, please note that some of these screenshots are from cutscenes, where graphics can be much better than during the real gameplay. E.g. judging by the youtube video there is no dynamic shading (besides shitty shadow casted on the ground by the characters).

Cool cover art.

I was playing the Mercs on Resident Evil 5 yesterday and I'm not seeing the appeal. Sure, this is greatly expanded, but it doesn't seem like a whole lot of fun. And having 3DS controls won't exactly help either.

Graphically, it looks good, I just wasn't blown away. It looks like what the 3DS can pull off, nothing more. People were raving that it's almost identical looking to the HD versions of Resident Evil 5 and that doesn't look like the case.

I have three problems with this game:

1. No touchscreen-control-option (I don`t say that they should abandon the RE4-GC control-scheme but there should be the option to use the TS for those who actually enjoy it (after playing RE4 on Wii and RE5 on PC I won`t go back to analog-controls if the system has a imo better option!))
2. First-Person-View (I like the Third-Person-View more, since it doesn`t snap into a whole new screen, which I find irritating and unnecessary!)
3. No Leon (as of yet...)

Other then that the game looks great. I hope there are plenty of mission and enough variety to keep you playing. Co-Op (on- and offline) is also really nice and for this kind of experience mandatory so I`m quite happy that they`ve incorporated that.

Cannot wait but I hope that there is some customization so these problems I have with the title could be eliminated

I can't wait! Can't even imagine how many hours I must have played the mercs on RE4. I'd still be playing it if my ruddy wii didn't decide to stop playing it!!!

RE5 merc's didn't have the same affect on me, maybe it was because it was lacking the IR... that was half the fun.

What? No, that's not possible. We should be getting the game in June, just like everyone else on the planet. As for the boxart, it's too much like Street Fighter 4.

No conformation as of now but it seems that the item- and weapon-selection as well as the map are on the touchscreen...

I kind of hope that they expend the map over the bottom part of the TS like in MPH, in which you touch-aim on the map itself, and have the item icons on the upper part of the TS, where they are in good reach but still out of the way of the the aiming-part.

I think I will base my purchase decision on this, so I hope they`ll have it in like I said

August 26th makes no sense. Those are most likely fake.

1-Bad mistake, yeah.
2-That's an optional thing. You can chose first or third person aiming. First person is there to give a better feeling of the 3D effect.
3-Let's just hope for the best.

How difficult are the Resident Evil games?

Depends on your difficulty setting. Resident Evil 4 was a decent challenge but nothing balls hard. Resident Evil 5 is a complete cakewalk once you unlock uber weapons (infinite Magnum ammo with a maxed out magnum, infinite RPG ammo, minigun, bow and arrow, etc).

Plus this isn't a storyline game like RE4/5. It's just a survival type game.

My largest concern about this game is the length - 30 missions for $40 is a bit pricey for a standard run. Of course, it's all about the experience and such, but I'll be waiting until more information is known about the game (like how the missions play out, for example) until I make a purchase. Like, if there's 30 missions and 12 maps, and you can play any of those mission on any map, then I'm cool with it. But if it's just 30 single missions....I dunno. There's rumored to be DLC, too. I wonder if they'll add a multiplayer VS mode like they did with RE5?

I understand your concern and you probably won't find the game too appealing.

It depends on your stance about the mini game. Some people like Guild and I believe you won't find the game lenghty or particularly replayable and maybe think it's too repetitive since it's basically shooting creatures over and over again.
I personally could spend days playing the Mercenaries mode in RE5
