Heyho guys,

yesterday i hacked my vita from 3.70 to 3.65 henkaku enso (3.70 trinity, downgrade to 3.60, upgrade to 3.65 henkaku).
Afterwards i wanted to return to the game i played prior to hacking, ffx (on disk). Sadly there‘s no save file when trying to load and i‘m way too deep into the game to start anew :(
anyway i can rescue my save file and continue on 3.65 henkaku enso? :/

thx in advance to any noble hero willing to help my sorry a** (:

If you were playing FFX from a Vita game card (or from the digital version, though that one requires more space, obviously), you should have done a backup using QCMA (or Sony's official CMA), then simply restore said file to your Vita like you normally would using the Content Manager app on your Vita. Alternatively, you could just download a previously made PS+ save.

If you are using SD2Vita, and followed the Vita guide step by step, you probably still have the save file on your Sony memory card assuming you didn't delete/format said memory card, but it's not loaded because SD2Vita is mounted as the ux0: partition (ergo, the save file is not there, yet). Use Vitashell and select "Memory Card" as the USB location, press select to connect to your PC, and go to "uma0:user/00/savedata/THE_ID_OF_YOUR_FFX_VERSION" and copy that whole folder. That is your save. You can simply copy it to your PC, disconnect USB, change Vitashell's USB connection from "Memory Card" to "SD2Vita" and press select to enable the connection again so you can copy your save to where it should be to be loaded by the game. For example, in my case, the save for my NA version of FFX will be "uma0:user/00/savedata/PCSE00293", with PCSE00293 being the ID of the NA version.

Sadly, if you didn't make any backup of your save file, and you erased it while you were in the process of downgrading and installing HENkaku, your save file is gone. If you are so inclined, you could use FFXED to edit a new save with items, locations and general progression on the game, but that is another process that requires a bit of time and some other tools. You could also use Vitacheat to give you an advantage and make it easier to catch up to where you got on your original save, too. Besides that, there's nothing much you can do, really.

aah, darn it, silly me forgot to backup savegames... T_T
well, then i‘ll start with exploring henkaku-world and restart ffx another time ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
thanks a lot for giving me such a detailed explanation, much appreciated :)
