I would like someone to make a simple utility that just tells you whether the emunand and sysnand are linked or not.
If it is *feasible* perhaps list where the nands are relative to each other in number of formats.

plus it's from HTOOLS, and I think they're defunct in the computer industry

Hard day work for chrome has to have more than 3 tabs open

@Kirbydogs, CMOS problems could be anything, possibly a dead battery.

If you're booting from USB, hold ESC or whichever button to get into the setup. Then change the boot option to either the USB or DVD drive. You might need to set the boot mode to UEFI as with live CDs.

yeah well now I have two computers that best solutions to fix are to take it apart, which isn't happening

General troubleshooting step, but have you tried removing the CMOS battery, removing the actual LiPO battery that powers the laptop, and holding the power button for 10-15 seconds while not plugged in? And then put the main battery and CMOS battery back in

it is still "on", with the blue light on
  • Kirbydogs @ Kirbydogs:
so it'd be dangerous to open it either way

USB stick got warm when plugged in, probably that it's right next to the charger
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
Also, shine a flashlight at the screen and see if you can see anything. Perhaps the backlight for the screen burnt out
  • Kirbydogs @ Kirbydogs:

  • Kirbydogs @ Kirbydogs:
should I try to turn it on with the USB in?
  • Kirbydogs @ Kirbydogs:
    lets see a flashlight?
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
I would say to try powering it on without the USB and then first try to either get into the BIOS or see if it boots into whatever OS is already on the SSD/HDD, if any
