Hello! I’m asking for someone who can modify the Nature of a Pikachu (Impish -> Timid) and the Gender of an Eevee (Male -> Female) Both are the partner from Let’s Go (I don’t even know if they are tradeable). Would it be possible or the ban could be a problem? Maybe someone with 2 Switch, one for the online trade and another for an offline trade and the modify.... yeah, I’m asking too much.
Another question: I have a Switch Day-One on last firm... is it possible to hack it, modify my save and then restore my Switch for Online? Thanks for your help!

You could get a jig (or make one yourself) and install Atmosphere or some other CFW on your device just to install Checkpoint. Once you backup your Let's Go save, you can edit it using PKHex (Windows app) then just restore the then edited save.

The thing is... the edited save will be there after I restore the Switch clean NAND for Online services?

Yes, your saves should remain untouched. Honestly, given the recent whispers of who does and does not get banned, you might be fine turning on airplane mode and then just use Checkpoint through the homebrew menu, edit your save, restore it to your game, and then delete the files.

Or take the extra step and use NAND backup before all this, and restore after.

So... there's no proof that using Hombrew Menu get you a sure ban? As far as I understand, the Switch create a file of errors that sent to Nintendo every time it turn on, if you hack it, it creates an error and a reason to get banned

What we hypothesize is the following, but there’s not much to go off of aside from when people get instantaneously banned.

This is quoted from elsewhere:

Instant ban:
• Piracy of any sort
• Homebrew nsps
• Changing user icon through homebrew
• Sketchy eShop behavior

Not so instant ban, but still a ban:
• Modding online games
• Cheating in online games

Not a ban, so far:
• Homebrew
• Custom themes (as far as I can tell)
• Mods/cheating in offline games
(this assumes that you disable online syncing for games you intend to save edit of course)

OK so... I can use CFW for Hombrew while I just keep moving in that zone: modding PKMN Save Files, and since those save files didn't sync with the cloud... in theory I'll be safe?

The NAND is the EXACT image of the state you took it
The save games will be gone if you do not back them up
But to restore them you need to boot into cfw

So if I have my saves on the SD Card, will the restored NAND refuse the modified save file?

Yes, sorry, that is my mistake.

There is no way to modify the save and then restore NAND back to its previous state, unfortunately. Personally, I would just do the mild edit and call it a day - I do not think you should be worried about a ban in this instance if you disable online syncing.
