ROM Hack Question Request FFXII no blackbar on cutscenes mod

Hello. Hoping someone would be able to help me out with a mod for FFXII that disables the black bars on cutscenes.

From what I understand the black bars are just covering the rest of the video for some reason and there exists a pc mod for the steam version that gets rid of them so I was hoping it was possible to with the switch version.

In some switch games you can port yourself the PC mods. Look it out so you could try it yourself!

It's possible, but you need to edit vbf archive. There is the same file used by PC mod (jsondata folder iirc), but it may differ in some terms, so try to find what it needs to be changed

Thanks for the help guys. For some reason I can’t even get the files to unpack from the vbf using the unpacker in another thread. So I guess I’m out of luck unless someone decides to do it for me. Oh well. Thanks again.

Requires repacking vbf file.

Unfortunately I always get an error at 35% when unpacking the vbf file so I’m out of luck
