I know with windows you should safely remove an sd card but on the switch i just remove it, i do get a notification that says to turn it off prior to removal and then on when its back

Do i need to follow that alert?

turn off the system before you remove the sd card, or you might ran into file corruption, for windows you want to safely remove it.

the problem might be the indexer. it lists all content you have, even if using multiple cards. all of those games will show up even with no micro sd card. the system will know the game is present. does it show a cloud icon above the game? I wish there was a way to hide games that won't be on the micro sd card, because as it stands now, I have to use 128GB cards after my 512GB card is full. it still shows every game I have regardless. it makes redownloading easier, but that's about it. it may not be a problem if it was designed that way.

Ahh then i would have to inject the payload again, is there a way to access the sd card via usb

I don't know much about switch hacking, but if there is a way to do that, it might require the sx os. I know that they have loading games via usb.
