[Solved] Going to start with saying this straight out, sorry for posting a new topic here. It shouldn't be this hard to figure out, I am usually pretty good and finding my own answers. I have an OG phat psp running 6.61 pro-c cfw. I was looking to sell this device and wanted to return it to official firmware. But the ONLY guides I have found don't answer for this exact version I have. What I have tried is doing a format of the sdcard and factory reset (this was suggested, but clearly only works for a non-permanent cfw. Also I went to sony and downloaded the official 6.61 firmware and dropped it in /psp/recovery/eboot.php. Booted to recovery and selected it to install. I rebooted to the same homescreen and system info still shows pro-c. What am I doing wrong? I hacked this like 3+ years ago and have no clue where I got this firmware originally and the only source I can find now didn't have removal instructions and wasnt a postable forum.

Update: thanks to those below, I followed thier advice and followed the chronoswitch path and downgraded to 6.60. I did have a hard time finding the files because the devs site appears to be down. Use the following youtube video for instructions and a source for the files.

I think you're supposed to use the Chronoswitch Downgrader to go completely back to stock, at least with Infinity. I'd assume it works for standard permanent CFW too.

Thanks a bunch guys! I was starting to think that route myself, glad I was on the same track as you all were suggesting.
