Also, I can't find the option to enable the plugin. I know a menu should be appearing at the end, but it doesn't show. I'm using a Old3DS and USA SMM.

And yes, I copied the folders. However, its called "SMM_cheats.plg". Should I rename it to "cheats.plg"?

When you load NTR CFW, and then your game, do you see a green flash?

If so, then the plugin loaded fine. Press Select to bring up the menu

game randomly freezes when using it so it may need an old 3ds version by that i mean a reduced file sized plugin

To reduce the file size you can disable the background image.
To do that edit the config.h file and replace the image name by fill_img.

Example:

In this config, I replace zelda_split by fill_img
