I heard the the theoretical max capacity for an SD Card is 2 TB. And since I want to go crazy with Loadiine, GC ISO's, and WiiMC, I was curious if there was a way to get ahold of say an SD Card or Dual MicroSD Adapter for 1 TB of storage in my SD slot because I apparently can't have 2 TB HDD's simultaneously hooked up to my Wii U without either using an extra wall socket, or removing my GC Controller Adapter. And doing so is out of the question. I can only find a max of 512GB for a regular SD Card. But that's on Amazon CANADA, you Americans have all the good stuff. Looking for something high-speed as well.

They haven't released a 1TB SD card to the public yet. That's why you only see 512GB

it's much better to use an extra wall socket with a dedicated wii/gc hard drive with ustealth installed on it. this is the perfect set up.

Agree completely.
Move as much as possible off to storage, per Gb it is far cheaper and it is accessed faster anyway.
I only keep the SD for holding Retroarch roms so WiiU homebrew can access it and the few megs needed for the other HB apps of course.
Cover downloads for USB Loader/emunands etc all go on the USB.
You can also install GC injects to the WiiU HDD for gamepad support (good way to use up the extra space if you have a 2Tb) so as to not take space on the SD.
I use multiple users for VC so as to extend past the 300 title limit.

hey, do you know if vwii downloadable content gets saved on the sd card or the usb drive? I downloaded a bunch of rock band songs and am not sure where they are lol (my guess is the Sd based on looking at file size).

Also... is there a tutorial for setting up multiple users? I do have 2tb and wanna fill that up.

All official Wii downloads install to nand (slccmp), unless of course you're cheating and using a Wii emunand solution

In the WiiU launcher click your Mii and "change user"... though I don't see a reason why you think it will help you "use your storage better" as users share installed titles/updates/dlc and, depending on the game, saves

no I was asking about the user profile thing to surpass the 300 title limit as well. I have the whole wii U library but not all of the e-shop titles. I was being careful about which ones I install because of the 300 title limit.

i discovered a way recently so that each user can have access to their own unique set of up to 300 titles by hex editing the file holding the users menu layout.
It works great but is only really useful if you’re a collector type.

I'm not 100% sure about what you are doing here.

You basically create a new user account and then edit that one's barista file - but are you editing just one line? or are you editing in 300 lines of apps to replace what normally would have showed up - to the apps that aren't being displayed?

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Exactly, all users have access to everyone's apps
snoofly has apparently figured out a way to have new users start with a blank slate and NOT share apps.

It's more like having different icon orders (which different users can indeed have); while the end result may appear as "they have different apps" if you have too many to fit, that's not technically true (as a different launcher, such as SystemConfigTool, can possibly access them without regard for the official launcher's layout)

I think you got it.
Replace up to 300 existing titles with the ones you want to use that are already in your usb

Hello OldGanshburg,

I believe you have already considered the installation method via Wupinstaller instead of Loadiine, if so or not, why don't you choose this Wupinstaller way?

I ask you this because I was in your same situation and at the end, I chose Wup way :)
