“Launcher.dat” which is a part of the files provided by Gateway “firmware”.

that's the firmware. the rop loader is the GW_INSTALL.NDS file in the gateway download package.

the gatewayinstaller.nds exploit, there is also a "homebrew" equivilent that doesn basically the same thing minus the encryption....so the gateway one is encrypted to work with the gateway exploit, the noGW launcher is to be used with the homebrew rop installer

I don't actually know how they work, but foobar2000 plays them if you use the vgmstream component: http://www.foobar2000.org/components/view/foo_input_vgmstream

I also converted a whole bunch of .bclims (pokemon icons) from rumble blast and made a sprite sheet:

The red icons at the bottom are the "sprites" for keldeo/meloetta/genesect, none of which were released when rumble blast came out.

After a bit of trouble, I got A Link Between Words extracted, Man this music is so epic. Now to look at all the other kinds of files... if anyone is having trouble getting the romfs to decrypt properly, I couldn't get it working until I used Twili's tool to extract the romfs from the rom. Seems 3dsExplorer has an issue or something. after that, it decrypted properly.

Yes, this worked! ctrtool was able to extract files from this!

funnily enough, just because you can't get something to work does not mean that it is fake

ok, i have all the stuff necessary, my xorpad edited to the correct size as my romfs, where can i get the correct version of ctrtool?

You have to compile it from source, it's the fork called "3dshax".

Also, does anyone know how to convert szs models (such as those found in Super Mario 3D Land) into something more common, like obj?

I used this version of ctrtool. Worked for me.

Also, make sure you use the getromfs.exe from here to get the RomFS.bin, instead of 3DSExplorer. It doesn't work properly.

I have some simple tools for those who don't want to use 3dsexplorer but want to decrypt a romfs. They're pretty slow, but they work.

1. Extract getromfs.exe and xor.exe to the same folder as the ROM that you obtained the romfs xorpad for, and put the xorpad in that folder as well.

2. Click and drag your ROM into getromfs.exe and it will extract the encrypted romfs for the rom as EncryptedRomFS.bin. Don't close the cmd window. It will close on its own when it's done. It will take a couple minutes.


3. Click and drag the xorpad for the romfs into xor.exe and it will xor EncryptedRomFS.bin with the xorpad to decrypt it. It will output DecryptedRomFS.bin. AGAIN, IT'S SLOW. DON'T CLOSE THE CMD WINDOW. IT WILL CLOSE ON ITS OWN.

for pokemon X i just got xorpad 3 is around 1.67 GB (6B300000), is takes almost 1 hour (51 minute 47 seconds, from my android phone stopwatch XD)... Right now copying xorpad file into PC ~

i will continue with other rom ~

slight adjustment to the nes rom header and it runs fine in a nes emulator

kinds fun to see this stuff.....now theoretically we should be able to use the software gba emulator that is supposed to be in the VC roms.....although its slow according to 3dbrew....but i would still like to see it XD
