Well you can disable LayeredFS with ReiNX on any firmware unlike SX OS so most of the issues would resolve when using a CFW that can disable it. The tradeoff would be not being able to load them as raw .XCIs, however there are plenty of tools and methods to work around this so this is a non-issue.
