Gaming Recommended torrent client and VPN question

I've been using uTorrent for as long as I can remember but I can remember upgrading to uTorrent 3.0 and I absolutely loathed it so I went back to 2.0.4 and have done ever since. My question is this. Has there been any new torrent clients released recently that's simple and not loaded with bloatware. Also, does anyone have any experience with VPN for bypassing ISP speed throttling or should I leave them well alone?

Tixati is one I found when I remembered how shitty uTorrent had become when I told a friend to install it.

Personally though, I miss Azureus more.
