I know it's supposed to use LG 8161,8162,8163,8164 model.
But all the new LG burner is GSA series, like:
LG GSA-H22L or LG GSA-H22N, GSA-H42N

Does it mean it will not work? Anyone tried those?

GDR-8162, GDR-8163 and GDR-8164 are all DVD-ROM drives.
This app is for ripping games not burning and supports only those drives.
So to answer your question mr_ding, no it wont work with those drives.

Was going to replace my burner, just trying to see if I can kill 2 birds with 1 stone by buying just 1 DVD-Rom drive

Oh well, guess not.... Thanks.

Just because it reads the disc doesn't mean it's actually dumping the right data.
The ONLY way to check if it worked, would be on a modded wii.

What about using some program that compares the files on the CD with the ones you just dumped if that exists and if it does not I smell another handy tool?

I think most will work at the moment how wary could they be of cd's being ripped this fast?
