Hacking R4i SDHC RTS Lite 2014 - Alternate kernel/menu?

I have this cart here for a while, and it's working on my O3DS fw9.0:

However, the UI/menu on this is bad. Just wondering if there's such a thing as an alternate menu for this cart? Or even better an open source alternative? Thanks.

Thanks. Looks like I need a DS/DSi to upgrade the fw to use this kernel. I don't have one, just 3DS.

have you tried setting the date to something like 2010?

What does setting the date to 2010 supposed to do? I did that and launched the cart, and got white screens on both top and bottom.

some carts have a date lock. i have the 2015 model, but i get the same stuff. havent gotten to look into further details
