Hacking R4i Gold tutorial?

Is it possible for some one to list a tutorial explaining in a step by step manner, how to use a R4i Gold 3DS RTS on a 5.1.0-11U? I want to be sure I'm doing it correctly. I've wasted about 15 hours on my new R4i Gold RTS. Thanks in advance...

Also, can't seem to search the forums. It always says, "no results found".
Anyone else having this problem?

Just format your MicroSD card and download the newest kernel WoodR4 V1.60(ftp://r4idsdown:[email protected]/Wood_R4iGold_V1.60.rar) from www.r4ids.cn, extract it and copy all the files, games into MicroSD card and play it...

Thanks guys. Guess I have a bad flash cart. Here is what I did.

Format with SD Format (tried 3 different MicroSDs)
Download Wood 1.60 (Tried about 5 different versions)
Copy kernal and games over
R4i Gold loads fine, until I load the ROM and it freezes on "Loading"
I have to manually reboot it and when I try and load it, it seems to be corrupt. (top screen image is missing and black background on bottom screen, usually shows no font.)

Thanks for the help though.

Edit 1: When I format, I have to use the quick because it says my SD cards doesn't support flash erase or something. Is there a certain setting I'm supposed to use?

I always go with normal formatting, but I don't know how much it affects flashcarts.

is all the games show loading or just one game?
try the Panasonic SDFormatter

It's any game I put on the MicroSD.
I've tried about 10 different ones and made sure they are all clean.

Edit 1: SNES and NEW emulators seem to work fine. It's just NDS games.

Edit 1: Unfortuantly this didn't work.
It still hangs on the "Loading" screen and corrupts the MicroSD. The one I'm using now is the same in the picture. 4GB SanDisk

hmm..maybe your card has some issue, try reflash your card by ds

Can I do that with just a 3DSXL on 5.1.0-11?

Edit 1: Attached an image of what happens to the MicroSD after turning off the DS (or returning to home screen) after it freezes on "Loading".

i am afraid you cant. other program will have the same issue...

So do you guys think it would be the R4i Gold kart, the MicroSD, MicroSD reader, or the 3ds?
Also, keep in mind i've tried 4 different MicroSDs (PNY, Kingston, SanDisk, ATA) amd 2 different card readers (the ones that the R4 comes with).

Found out it was just my R4i Gold card. NDSGamer sent me a new one very fast and it works perfect! Thanks for all the help!

They shipped the first one and I got it in 3 days.
The next day I sent an email saying it wasn't working and they immediately shipped a new one that they already tested.
I received it 3 days later (today) and it works perfect.
