Hacking R4 START

I've read this from start to end and I'm no wiser as to what this "custom" firmware is/does (GUI and what functionality of icons). Care to elaborate?
Rockstar mentioned it's merely the R4i Ultra firmware rebadged. I've seen that firmware in operation and it looks exactly the same as the original R4 GUI, but none of the R4 themes work (need to be converted through software, such as gimp) and they can't be chosen manually, in that they will only change automatically each month.

I own a couple of original R4s and an AK2i and there's no way in hell, anyone in there right mind would prefer R4 GUI (with its accompanying lacklustre FW) over AKAIO. If they do I'd suggest they waltz on down to thir local department store and pickup a cheap white jacket with rope for binding

Well even though I have helped azure0wind, I installed R4GEi.gei and R4GEi.nds (mselink --> R4GEi.nds) in addition of R4Ultrai installation. My R4*** Skins are that of R4Ultrai.

Well, as long as it can do some of the extra things that the R4 normally can't, then I'm all for supporting R4 Start. A cool idea would be to have similar functions to the WoodR4 (cut/paste/copy mostly)...and maybe add the amazing "Rename" function that only DSOrganize seems to have xD.

Using AK2 official akmenu won't do?

no he means, R4 START should be more like akAIO/Wood R.P.G.
It means, R4 START should have cut, copy, paste, etc, etc features.

This is very cool but it only seems to work with the Acekard. You'd really have something if it worked with the iPlayer.

Changing disk io library with that of other cart is very difficult unless it is dldi-ized. Don't ask like that.
Possibly due to you, azure0wind is asking me too many things, so I had to drop akShell too.

o.0 why not just use the R4iRTS...it looks exactly the same...and it has the same updates as Touchpod/Sakura...

Lol, whoops I misread your post xD. Having an M3iZero sort of firmware isn't exactly possible for the AK, although there is Moonshell2 (which I think is infinitely better anyways) which is pretty much M3Sakura without commercial rom support (you would be no better off than you are currently with CannonFoddr's MAIO).

it is just if the firmware of R4i RTS work on the Acekard 2i than RTS is possible to use

So this is a Homebrew with ROM loading capabilities for the AK2i with the R4 skin.
No offense but I don't think many people will use it.
Make it for the R$ and you'll get more users or even the DSTT.
