I have a R4i RTS 3DS from r4ids.cn with its latest firmware that plays a majority of games the way they did on the DS. I also use Twilight Menu+++ for things such as DSI clock speeds for an extra boost in games. one thing I had never tried before is the option that lets you use NDS-Bootstrap instead of the Flashcarts kernel which to my surprise makes every game runs smoother than they ever did with the R4 Kernel. 007 Goldeneye is a good example of a night and day performance difference. has NDS-Boostrap really surpassed the R4 kernels at this point? or am I missing something?

Sounds like you left on some enhancements. Other than that it doesn't do anything different compared with traditional flashcart firmwares.

Just my opinion but i think it's desirable if the game runs as close to original as possible to avoid bugs not showing on original games. The only time i would sacrifice accuracy is if the game is really crappy.

I leave the enhancements on at all times thats the whole point of using TwilightMenu and I've personally never seen any bugs. I personally rather a game have better performance than it did on the original system thats part of the fun of hacking devices unlocking their full potential. and my thought is maybe the flashcart firmwares have just become too far outdated at this point.

The flashcart firmwares all don't support DSi enhancements. The only DSi mode capable flashcart ever made was the CycloDS iEvolution which flopped hard and didn't have most of these features either (DSi mode enhancements was new territory back then).

increasing the clock speeds definitely made a difference I had tested it way back during the twloader days. you can easily see the difference by loading a bad performing DS game with the cart via the 3ds menu first which gives it all the defauflt settings and then testing again via the twloader/twlightmenu+++. back then the only real option was the clock speeds
