Hacking Quickest way to split and rar an iso

So what is the quickest way to split rar or just rar an iso? Just used rawdump to make iso. When using winrar it takes like 1hr and 20mins to do a NCG game. There has got to be a better way. If you know of one please post.

If I can gather right, you are trying to split up an ISO into rar format? If you choose to compress it will take quite a while. Usually I go with the 'Store' method when splitting something of that size. No compression, but it goes much faster, and you aren't going to get much difference by compressing anyway.

yeah, i wanted to get rid of the bloat while storing the backup with other NGC backups on a data dvd (so to speak). then when needed unpack and burn.

I am fully aware of ngc shrinker emu_kidid made but not wanting that.

Well at least i know the long period is normal.

Compression with something like winrar will take a while and a fair amount of resources, personally I would use 7zip and fiddle with the options like so:

That will generate serious compression but take ages, you could also drop the dictionary size, word size and compression strength (this is killer).
