Gaming Quick qustion about converting files

Hello

I recently flashed my 3ds xl I'm on 11.9 and got a 3ds file but I can only use cia format. so how can I format it easly and is it possible to do it with out bricking it. Any help would be great

1. Place the 3ds file in a folder called cias on the root of the sd card. Then put the sd card into the 3ds
   
2. Launch GodMode9 by holding (Start) during boot
3. Navigate to [0:] SDCARD -> cias
4. Press (A) on your .3ds file to select it, then select “NCSD image options…”, then select “Build CIA from file”
5. Your installable .cia formatted file will be outputted to the /gm9/out/ folder on your SD card

Doing this won't brick the 3ds file or the 3ds system

The three I tried with this one worked I other kept getting bus errors. I will try again tomorrow
