Hacking Quick Question-Updating

I had my R4 for a while now, and I still have v1.10 Kernel, and my question is how do you update it to v1.11 English? I tried to drag n drop everything (_system_, Moonshell etc) but when I turn it on, on the bottom left corner it still says v1.10... I tried google, but so far no answers...

Don't forget the files in the root directory, those are the most important.

Let's say your MiniSD is in drive f:\

There are some files directly in there, not only in _system_.

Replace those, too.

Oh, so all the files in _system_ and Moonshell need to be replaced? Alright, I'll give it a shot.

Delete the following

moonshl (folder)
_DS_MENU.SYS
_DS_MENU.DAT
_DS_MSHL.NDS

from your mSD card before copying the new files onto it. You can leave the system folder it you have themes you want to keep. Then copy the same
files from the R4 v1.11 update onto the card apart from _DS_MENU.SYS as this is generated by the r4 when you power it back up.

Hmm, Im not sure you understood that right.

Yes, replace _system_ and moonshl with those of the kernel download, but also _DS_MENU.DAT and _DS_MSHL.nds in the root of your SD Card.

Edit:

I basically wanted to point out that you missed:

_DS_MENU.DAT
_DS_MSHL.nds

which are the 2 most important files.

Well I think I got it right. The look of moonshell changed, the bottom left corner says v1.11, so I think it worked. Thanks for your help.
