Homebrew Questions about Gamecube Saver

Well, I have been trying to get the Forbidden four on Animal Crossing WITHOUT paying 100$ for an Action Replay (The good kind),and I was wondering a few things...

1. Will the Gamecube Saver work with that method if I delete the boot.elf and put the boot.dol in the Gamecube saver onto the SD card's root?

2. Will I have to DOWNLOAD anything onto the Wii from the Gamecube Saver?

3. Does the Gamecube Saver work with GCS files?

1.

You don't put the elf/boot file in the root of the sd card.
It's put in its own folder inside the apps folder on the root of the sd card
and then run through the HBC and yes you will use the boot.dol file instead of the boot.elf file

2.

Nothing gets downloaded to the wii from the gamecube saver. It transfer the save file from the sd card to the gamecube memory card and that's it.
You just need to have the homebrew channel installed so you have a way to run the gamecube saver program.

3.

It only works with gci files. Use a converter program to convert your save file to a gci file.
You can try this one out i have used it in the past and it works fine.

You can also look into these other programs that can do that same thing as the gamecube saver.They might not need you to convert the save files either.

1. I'm using a certain method which runs it STRAIGHT after running LetterBomb(Which has worked for Riivolution, wouldn't it work for this?)

2. Same as above, with the method from Newer, which allows you to run Riivolution WITHOUT HBC, I thought the same method would work.

3.Oh, I thought when save to GCI was mentioned, it was something like changing it from a .sav to a .gci...Thanks for that info at least!

Yeah if your running it straight from letterbomb it will work as well just put the boot.dol in the root of the sd card.


What exactly are you trying to do with newer/riivolution?

Oh no, I have done it before, I was just wondering if that method would work with Gamecube Saver (I have actually played Newer with that method, very fun!)
