Hacking question regardin regions

i am still quite new to wii mod scene and still looking for information.


I have 2 question about regions on wii games. If i install a mod chip (any mod chip) on my wii (pal) can i just buy backup copies of other region games and play it straight away, assuming the copies was not region patched.

can i buy other regions of the retail games and play it on my wii with no problems?

Um...nar. Region free with any modchip is really dodgy atm.


I have a better question for everyone else. Are Wii save games region free if you have a modded wii?

Most mod-chips (?) currently support region-free on-the-fly (ie, no patching required). However, not all games from all regions will currently play on different consoles, regardless of mod-chip. This is a limitation of the current mod-chips themselves. So region-free is only partially supported.

As far as I know, save games are not interchangeable between regions...
