Hacking Question for Paper Jam 3ds rom

Before I say anything else ,sorry if this is posted on wrong section and sorry for bad english, also, I have an Old 3ds on ver9.2

so let's get to the point

I use Gateway as a flashard to play 3ds roms and I'm playing Mario & Luigi Paper Jam lately..
At some point a toad instructs you to how to turn amiibo into character cards but when I touch the amiibo thingy on the Menu it sends me a message that the 3ds needs to be powered off and if that problem persists i should communicate with a nintendo service or something but obviously I didn't do something as stupid as that 'cause if I did my 3ds would be bricked...now,i'm asking why that happens and even if it's a stupid question please leave an answer. I know there are risks to do something online while on Gateway mode or so but how does Nintendo recognizes that ? Also, if you don't have an accesory needed to ''read'' amiibos,is that the reason why this happens ?

No,i don't even have emunand on my sd/system but i boot on gateway through Menuhax homebrew (note: i don't really get why some apps claim not to work on some homebrew exploits but i just said that just in case...)

Well amiibo support wasnt added until 9.6 so thats the culprit your best option is to setup gateway Emunand and update it

I don't need it actually but as i wrote before,if amiibo was introduced on 9.6 (for o3ds) then why can i play this game which is supposed to be for versions 9.6 and up ?

The game probs allow it to be played under 9.6 but needs 9.6 for such amiibo activity.

because its been firmware spoofed just like games can be region free patched

how even go wrong which something like format the SD card using gateway it self and then update the emunand?

Yes but if you go wrong you can't brick your system as emunand is all done from sd card so at worst all you lose is what's on the sd card

well he does need emunand because im pretty sure you cant go online with 9.2 firmware unless you flash files to sysnand which can result in softbrick

I haven't found any use in emuNAND since the only thing i do is playing 3ds games via gateway (red flashcard).I've seen various uses but they don't help me with anything right now.Thanks for your help anyway

Well as it is right now you can't go online or use amiibo at all. So you already have a use for EmuNAND

The only game i'd like to play online is Luigi's Mansion 2 but i an do without it however, i don't get what you mean by ''You can't go online'' i an use the browser application but you probably didn't meant that

You can't play games online without the latest firmware.
