Gaming Question about HD caddies

Hi guys I have 2 x 1TB cavier green WD hard drives. Thing is I have no space in my tower to add them.
I bought 2 x http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/USB-2-0-SATA-IDE...=item3cb69ac973 which worked great for a while but then the plugs started to overheat and I could smell smoke.

So I'm lookin for suggestions to house 2 x 1TB SATA HDs in a USB caddie. I looked on ebay but seems a lot of them have a 350GB limit which is weird.

Any help much appreciated as I need these drives daily.

Caddies are Enclosures, they're the same thing. I however suggest getting a hotswap dock (similar to what you used to use, only better and quite useful).

And I can't think of any good reason as to why there'd be a size limit other than age.

Can that hold 2 drives at once though I can't see it on the specs.

Considered going the NAS route?- many of those will house multiple drives and a few also have USB ports on to act as such should you so desire.

Granted no USB but not much more than a proper reader/caddy and still well thin the price range of "necessary but preferably not expensive" hardware and in possession of 2 bays.

I concur with FAST6191, NAS is great. Synology if you can afford it (and need the features), and your storage will serve so much more than your PC !
