Hardware PSP Semi-Bricked...?! where to go on from Recovery mode?

Ive been handed over a PSP 1004,

- it goes Black Screen when normal booting
- it goes to Recovery mode by pressing R -> Shows 6.60 cfw
- i cannot say if the memory card is accessible, since it wont hold the card anymore, wants to jump out, i can close the card slot though

Some advice needed what to do for unbricking, thx in advance

I would try to reinstall the OS, and since you have a working recovery, the most direct way is by placing the official 6.61 update in /PSP/GAME/RECOVERY/EBOOT.PBP and using the appropriate option in recovery...

...however, I would definitely replace the memory stick slot (MS-299, also includes wifi and headphone/remote socket) first!!

thx for your help, is that 661 OFW or what exact version should i use for update? what will be next steps then?

just boot to OFW by holding select while booting, then reinstall CFW, if that doesnt work, boot to recovery and install OFW again
