They're just trying to protect their consoles from pirates, nothing wrong with that. By doing that, they're also protecting other game producing companies, in a way.

Actually the only criminals here are pirates period. Its the whole alcohol scenario. Should alcohol be banned because a bunch of dumbasses decided to drink and drive (personally i think no).

Why would you need to do that? Most games already install to the HDD to prevent hard use to the laser, and Blu-rays are almost indestructible as far as scratches are concerned.
