First things first, I should start by saying that if you have an OLED-specific clone chip you're fine.

Anyways, all HWFLY Lite chips come with Spacecraft v1. For those that don't know, Spacecraft v1 sets certain pins to 5V that shouldn't be set to that on an OLED.

You can find more info in the readme of my application here: https://github.com/Pheeeeenom/payloadchecker

All this application does is check the payload that's currently written and checks it to verified hashes stored in the program.

Steps to follow are:

Boot hekate
Dump BOOT0
Check it on application

If you have a genuine modchip, update it to the latest Spacecraft v2 before you install it into an OLED.

The OLED-specific modchip also comes with broken USB debugging, if you want to fix this issue you will need to write this repaired firmware binary.

So what about all of us who have a modded oled with hwfly lite?
You're likely running Spacecraft v1 and it's going to kill your console slowly. If you read the readme on my application you can see the difference in code.

@Mena Is an original SX Core flashed with Spacecraft v2 ok?
yeah you're good.

Just checked mines 1.0
I should change my wording honestly, I can't say it *will* kill your oled but it most certainly can cause damage. Hell, even the creator of Spacecraft said this but it didn't really gain any traction. Now that people are actively doing this mod I've seen issues come up.

So original SX Core works with OLED?

I wonder why Sthetix removed the SX Core diagram from his github page by saying "he is not sure if it will work on OLED".

Are there some extra steps you need to take when installing it, or could you simply follow the diagram? I know it doesn't fit as well as a Lite chip, but I thought it should work just the same?

The spacecraft firmware comes with a factory encryption program, don't try to decipher it, it will cause problems with your console and chip.
We guarantee that all hwfly chips are compatible with the latest consoles and there are no issues.
The firmware release is also more than 2 months old and there is no evidence that it will break the console, this is a mature product.

LMFAO. Alright, I guess we're going to play this game.

Tell me why there are sellers admitting you guys use Spacecraft V1 because there is no "need" for V2. As for your custom encryption. There is none. If anything, you guys broke USB debugging, it was fixed by others after dumping your firmware changes.

This statement is from officially hwfly ?? Im using hwfly on my oled and im not find any problem especialy with 5v issue. My logic is the issue 5v must be draining battery faster but in my experience is normal while in gaming and sleep mode

5v can slowly kill whatever chip that 5v is going to by general heat. In theory it should be possible with Zener diodes. That would bring down the voltage.

Probably not, hwfly like to remain anonymous.

Sorry but your 'logic' is devoid of any significance here. Listen to whomever you choose, but don't spread unsubstantiated 'logic' for fact.

I would simply heed the warning by the actual hacker who managed to glitch his OLED on day one, who wrote the open-sourced microcontroller firmware that hwfly stole for their modchips, and who wrote the open-source payload that initializes the switch to the point where it can chainload into hekate. That payload was updated for OLED switches, because this same hacker identified dangers with the original payload that was purely intended to run on units with an LCD screen. This LCD screen requires different supply voltages than the OLED does, among which at least a +5V and -5V for the backlight circuitry. But there are more differences. And hwfly still uses the old version of this payload without warning anyone about its dangers.

The hwfly lite clones are locked. Magnus Hydra attempted to update my chip from spacecraftnx 0.1.0 to 0.2.0 as he showed above and it failed. It comes like that from the factory....

Mena even explains here what spacecraftnx is doing. It WILL damage your OLED if you keep it in there. Ive seen others report that their switch has even bricked and they had to replace the mobo and chip to avoid the issue altogether.

SX Lites are fine to use in OLED's since they CAN be updated to 0.2.0. I have been told that the new OLED only chips CAN be reprogrammed, but Im waiting on confirmation from someone that is getting theirs soon.
