Hacking Ps3 super slim hack for a noob

Hi, I never had a ps3 until today, I have a super slim 500gb,
Cech 4203C model
System Software 4.76

What would be the best way to mod it, I have read about Hen and seen some youtube clips but not sure if they are reliable.

Also if I install ps backups would that risk getting banned?

Can this model play backups of ps1 and ps2 games?

Update to 4.86 OFW
Install 4.86 Hybrid Firmware
Install Hen
Install: Multiman, Webman, retroarch, fba, PSP ISO launcher, Rebug PS2 classic launcher if you want ps2 games and other cool homebrews

It is. This is why I asked for that thread to be stickied. You should too. The superslim method aka hen can be performed on any model and will never be blocked by Sony. PS3 is so old, very capable and arguably better for playing PS2 games than a PS2 and it has no love, even here.

Hi. And does HFW load automatically? i.e you don't need to launch a web browser or a hack every time you boot up the PS3?

Once done hen icon will be on main menu game column

Every reboot / power off you have to run Hen

Sometimes certain things require you to run hen as well like exiting PS2 games etc.

All in all Hen is real nice but its not quite as good as CFW yet close.

If you install webman and its missing from game column that means you need to run hen = webman missing run hen. This is a quick way of knowing if Hen is still active or not.

Do you know what is the format of the ROMs that work on Super slim? Can the ones online be played directly or should I sign them somehow?

Do you know if I would be able to play PS1 disks on it as well, or actual PS2 disks? It's no biggie if not, I just have a bunch of disks that I'd like to play here, but I couldn't find confirmation anywhere yet.

all model ps3's can play ps1 games and disks (as far as i know), ps3 phat/og can play any ps2 game and disk, ps3 slim and super slim has a limited official ps2 library and but can run any ps2 at varying performances.

Just to confirm I modded it successfully, but now sold it can got xbox one x

Just to confirm I sold my one x and got a superslim again and ps3hen'd it, installed a 480gb ssd and all is good. Also have a usb adapter for wii u pro controller and it works perfectly.

Happy days.
