Few days ago, I got a new tablet PC for my birthday. I installed Pj64 1.6, adjusted some settings (controller, graphics, directory, etc), whenever I click on the game name, it instantly crashes, booted the N64 ROM file through Open menu didn't crash, but opening emulator again just crashes straight away as it highlighted the recent game, had to uninstall and install again to reset.

I tried some Compatibility options - run app in 640 x 480 resolution, Win7/XP compatibility mode, override high DPI scaling behaviour as application, system or enhanced, nothing works.

Does anybody know how to get around with this error?

My PC specs
Code:
OS: Windows 10 Pro, 64-bit
Model: Microsoft Surface Book 2
CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-7300U @ 2.60GHz
GPU: Intel(R) HD Graphics 620
RAM: 8GB
SSD: 256GB - SAMSUNG MZFLW256HEHP-000MV

Download the latest version and try that. Why do people default to 1.6?
1.6 is more reliable, because 2.x has most options from 1.6 removed such as setting for memory as 4 or 8 MB, the problem is it cannot boot SM64 ROM hacks, it must be set to 8MB for ROMs individually.

What ROM Hacks? I've played a few and haven't had issues.

Nvm, I found a workaround by running on VirtualBox, it's no longer crashing Project64 :D

That fact that it's 32 bit shouldn't really matter. I'm using a 64 bit computer and I can run project 64 1.6 just fine. It has to be something else.

Hmm, it's pretty unknown. So I picked Project64 2.3 instead and it doesn't crash at all.
