Hacking problem with elink

my elink has completely stuffed up. the thing that happens is when i insert the cartridge, it turns on ok (it shows gameboy and nintendo underneath it) but then it just goes to a white screen! if anyone knows how to fix it or atleast knows what happened to it then please tell me

do you mean charge the gameboy or charge the flash card? because the gameboy is full of power and if you mean the flash card, how do i charge that?

Elink only makes gba carts.

so i just plug the flash card into the computer. can my pc be on stand by?

you can use a usb hub if it has it's own power source.

your advice didnt work. i plugged it into my computer (without being in the gameboy) for 8 hours and it didn't fix anything. so what do i do?

what operating system are you running.

XP SP3 causes problems with the drivers.

if your running Vista x64, there are no drivers that will work.
There are still no Vista x86 drivers, you can try compatibility mode.


if you had the elink for about 2 years, the battery might be dead, in which case you will need to replace it.

XP SP what? nevermind then, you must be one of those people who gives very little info on your problem.

either your battery is dead or you loaded a game with a save type not supported by the elink. Those are the only 2 possiblilities to get your white screen.

you can ask your question on the elink BBS board, they only answer questions in chinese by the way.

if it is a save type issue you can normally SRAM patch a game to make it compatible, you can get your SRAM patcher of choice from the download section here:

or get a specific patch here if your game still has issues with other things not related to save type:

but i cant even get to the game select menu because of the white screen and my PC wont read it unless i get to that point

then you got a dead battery problem. either replace the battery or go use something else.
