PAL users use the "version=290" hacks

also i believe you have to remove previous preloader hacks with the hacks remover tool before you install new hacks

Actually it was my understanding that Preloader checks what sysmenu version you are using and only shows the hacks in your hacks.ini that apply. So you don't have to actually edit the ini. Someone confirm?

Preloader also shows you what system menu version you are using when you load it, bottom left of screen.

Edit: Confirmed. I'm only seeing the 22 v289 hacks i have in my ini.

Last post before bed - yes - it only shows your region hacks.

Nite all - till later and look out for Riskii v3 Coming to a wii near u soon

Or at least a vid to start !

.
I am not editing anything of the hacks.ini then.

Is there a Force Disc Region patch for NTSC.
I see it for 258 and 290 but no 289???

Edit: I believe I've found them.

[Force Disc Region]
version=258
offset=0x81377A44
value=0x3C608000
[Force Disc Region]
version=258
offset=0x81377A48
value=0x936300CC

Thank you for this release Crediar!
I love being able to have Preloader set to NOT autoboot but when I return to System Menu it no longer returns to Preloader!!!! Now it's PERFECT.

Though I'm a PAL User...

I should go Install PRELOADER V0.26 right? Even if I want to Install BootMii ? (Since I don't really care about pirate WADS...? )

sorry for that noob question...why is there a dol file, if the hack.ini is used?

How to update from 0.25?

Just reset hacks.ini and install 0.26 over 0.25?

To me it seems best to go for a fresh install. Minor glitches have been reported here, when updating.
Remove the hack with the hack remover tool and install a fresh systemmenu.wad or use ARC to install a fresh sysmenu, then install 0.26

Feel free to prove me wrong.

QUOTE(bebs @ Jan 27 2009, 10:55 AM) sorry for that noob question...why is there a dol file, if the hack.ini is used?

The .dol is the installer which installs the preloader. In addition the Preloader uses the hacks.ini in the root to perform the hacks.
Both are only needed once as they are installed and written into the nand flash. After installation they can be safely deleted from the sd card.

Okay. But I don't want to use ARC and don't have a WAD for Systemmenu. And I DON'T want to google something like this critical...

Head over to hackmii, get the semi-brick fix disc, extract the sysmenu wad using trucha signer or whatever. Or, just use ARC.

Anyway, some one have the heart to answer my questions?

I'm, kind of a noob in preloader here. So here's a few questions:

1)How do I develop my own hacks.ini?
2)Do I need to remove all starfall hacks?
3)Someone tested it yet >__>?
4)Someone can give me good hacks.ini?
5)Do I need special version of homebrew apps to make it work on preloader?

Thanks!

I could hook you up with that wad. Mine is extracted from the semi-brick fix disk from hackmii.
Exactly like afif95 said.
Your choise, mine is the PAL version.

1) The format is found in the hacks.ini which comes with PreLoader. Finding the offsets and changing them, I don't know.
2) Not neccesary, but PreLoader can perform the same hacks which come with starfall. So my advise is to remove the starfall hacks and enable them with preloader. Keeps it all in one place for your convenience.
3) Extensive testing is done before release. Crediar tried to make it as brick proof as possible. If you still don't trust it, hold off for now and follow this thread.
4) There are some good hacks.ini scattered through the 0.25 thread, also check the first page. Also a pretty complete .ini is provided in the RiiskiMod pack.
5) No, existing homebrew is supposed to work. Dols can be lauched from SD. Place them in the root and you can and launch them from the PreLoader menu. Also a .dol can be installed to the nand and be selected to autoboot every time the wii is powered on (optional).

That would be great.
I'm on PAL, too.
You'll have to be patient though. I'm @ work and don't have access to it right now. I'll upload it tonight.
If you don't want to wait follow this link and take a look at reply 21 from iNDEGO. That should hook you up.

QUOTE(robiul @ Jan 27 2009, 12:04 PM) Do you think a v0.27 will be coming out?
OMG...
Are you for real ?? 0.26 just got released !

But to be honest yes.
Crediar has intentionally put in some bugs for him to fix, so he can release 0.27 on feb 12.

Force Disc Region doesn't seem to work very well on my PAL machine, selecting Force Disc Region option 1 only allows me to play PAL games only and not NTSC, Force Disc Region option 2 causes my wii to freeze at the System Menu and selecting both 1 and 2 allows me to play NTSC games but breaks my PAL games.
