Android PPSSPP lag?

For some reason I'm getting lag on PPSSPP on this phone compared to an older one with similar specs

1.1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 (quad-core)
2GB RAM

Compared to the older:

1.2GHz Qualcomm MSM896 (quad-core)
1GB RAM

Anyone know why I might be getting this lag?
