You see instead of sitting on a chair they have decided to sit on all sorts of silly places such as dining tables and roofs (hence my cat joke)
It's originally a comic from the 20s showing a "dignified" woman and man vs the "loose" flappers of the age with revealing clothing such as knee length skirts and *gasp* smoking cigarettes
It's basically old social commentary/slut shaming that seems silly to us now because it's still about 50x more conservative than our present norms
