same reason many other PCBs have seemingly unused contacts
for debugging, re-flashing/re-programming (depending on type of media) etc..

I wish kind of still wish I had my Pokemon Mini now. It has a good home though, a female friend of mine was taking care of my Pikachu.

Why not have a microsd like everything else. Even the game boy is getting a drag and drop card.

Oh. Thats Bleepbloop's new card for the game boy drag and drop and uses an sd card. He just sent me an email. Supposedly the cards in beta testing right now.
