If you use proper DNS, you're safe, my PS4 pro on 9.00 has been connected to internet when I needed , and over 3 years, never had a single attempt to download a firmware update, even when not running GoldHen

When I first got to install games on my PS4 an 11.50 update somehow showed up on Notifications, but I deleted soon as I saw it.

Other than that, no issues.

I've been looking to buy a PS4 Pro, thing is people update their consoles so it's rarer to find them.
