That's cool. Unfortunately, I'm not a coder...yet. But if i was I would have helped you.
The thought that counts.

So you're talking about an officially licensed and sanctioned product; I think the post title should be updated to reflect this because that makes a HUGE difference. On here, everyone will just assume you're talking about a theoretical homebrew application and pass it over.
If I enough interest and find programmers. Yes it will be official application that will show up in the Nintendo e-shop. I'll change the title once I got a team of programmers to get this project going.

First off, you should talk to the developers of PLEX since they already have an application that CANNOT be beat, secondly, you will need to talk to Dan Adelman and he has shown no interest in this, trust me, I send him a tweet everyday in regards to this.

It's like you are not listening, lol... It is crazy...

You also have to take into consideration that demand is so small for this, that they most likely wouldn't even allow it on the eShop... You have to think realistically...

Just making a thread saying you are going to develop a media application for eShop is not good enough. You are obviously not a developer and have no idea how things actually work in the real world.

You may think I am coming off as a dick, but believe me, I am doing you a huge service by telling you about an ALREADY EXISTING masterpiece called PLEX. Maybe you should devote your time into convincing the developers of that and Dan Adelman that PLEX is a good choice for the eShop at a price tag of $4.99 across ALL platforms that utilize the eShop including 3DS/DSI/2DS and Wii U. I promise you your efforts would be better spent that way!

It plays every single file format that there is and streams 1080p HD locally and over the internet. You can even share you server with other people?!?!?!?! It is also already in collaboration with TheTVDB, Freebase, IMDB and others!

I'm also scratching my head a bit at what you're doing, t3nk3n. So you're trying to build a program that already exists and works perfectly*, by asking around programmers who have their own projects hacking the wiiu (without approval from nintendo)...and you somehow think that nintendo won't laugh you out of the room?

But what I'm missing mostly is: why should those developers help you? The wiiu doesn't play random video's out of the box (rather the contrary: it tries to format every hard drive you plug into it into ninty's own formatting system), so there's obviously a demand for that. They already know. And have already built it. So...again: where do you come in? Will you negotiate on their behalf with nintendo? Will you make sure all the legal matters involving codecs are cleared? Will you be testing, writing manuals or doing publicity? Sorry, but I don't see anything of that kind. It's probably not your intention, but you sound as if you want others to do all the work while you take the credit. I'm not saying that's the case...but you should really elaborate on that.

*note: I'm going by LastCupOfSorrow's mention here. I'll probably check it out soon, but atm I haven't used plex myself.
