Is this standalone version better than the Retroarch core or is it pretty much the same thing performance-wise?
Hell yeah it is better n fast load also easy to use and fast also its all catalog each deveople or published the company. its way better than playlist in retroarch, you can even adjust the game screen ffrom 4:3 to 16:19 or the crt screen shades or any shades make it look cartoon details.

I usually prefer standalone versions of emulators to Retroarch, but this one is unfortunately far too limited. When I found out I can't adjust dip switches or customize the screen size (just choose certain presets) I had to go with Retroarch. It's messy, but has the important options needed.

It isn't messy, it just has a small learning curve, but when you learn where the main options are, you're fine.

Have you try OutRunners - couldn't figure out how to dipswitch from dual screen 2 players to one screen 1 player ?

I use FBAlpha core on Retroarch rather than the standalone app, but i'm pretty sure you can map a button to 'service' or 'test' that will bring up the Dipswitches menu at any time during gameplay.

Anyone know how to get Neo Geo hacks like KOF ’99 Anniversary to show up? Zip is fine, works elsewhere, but doesn’t appear in the game list.

neogeo.zip and the parent kof99ae.zip are in the same folder. Does this build skip unofficial stuff? Any way to make it show?

Thanks.
