Hi, I have a 4.3U red wii, it has been modded (only usb loader gx and homebrew was installed.) I was told by the guy who did the modding that I can't play Pal games. The weird thing is I put a pal iso game on my hard drive and it appears in usb loader and it even works. I can play the pal game on my wii without problems. I am very confused because I don't have any priiloader or anything else installed than usbloader or homebrew. Why is it than I can play Pal games?
Thanks

USB loaders don't do region checks for updates etc, so it won't be a problem.

EDIT: Plus what Bluelaserman said

Ok. You mean by (it won't be a problem) that it is normal that my pal games isos work?

Yes, thats normal. Some games may require you to tweak to settings for video output etc but otherwise you shouldn't encounter any "region" problems. If you do get such things as black screen on load up, then it may require you to set the games individual settings to use a different cIOS. Putting an out of region game in a Wii may result in an update that will screw you up. If you're using USB for loading, you won't encounter this

Ok, I believe I understand. As long as I put scrubbed iso pal games I download and put on my hard drive to use from Usbloader gx, I won't have any problems that updates will screw up my wii. This is correct?

You can put a PAL retail/burnt game in whilst in your USB loader and rip direct to HDD if you so wish. They don't always have to be scrubbed, they can be 1:1 rips, USB loaders usually scrub down anyway as the part that is scrubbed is essentially junk data not used

I can't put any burnt games on dvd to play because I have a newer wii that the drive does not play burnt games.
But I am glad to know, finally, that I can at least play pal games (iso) that I put on my hard drive without being afraid of messing up my console and the modding.
Thank you so much for your quick replies
Have a great day

Then that guy is either ignorant or lazy (because, you know...installing priiloader and setting it to region free everything could take ALMOST TWO WHOLE MINUTES). I know guys who know how to hack a wii may sound like they know everything...but in truth, we usually just follow what we hear from others.

In any case: playing out of region games have no higher chance of screwing up your softmod than a region-game. At worst, your television doesn't support the format and it'll black screen on you (in which case: hold the power button for 5 seconds to shut it down). That's it.

Yeah, I believe your right about the lazy part... but at least the pal games work. I only tried 2 games so i'll try some more. It's not always easy to get information and understand it when you're just starting out so i'm glad i found people here that were nice enough to reply quickly and help me out. So now I know I can play some pal games without bricking my wii.
Thanks again, Take care.
