Hacking PAL -> NTSC with Firmware Downgrader

Has anyone converted their Wii from PAL to NTSC (or vice versa) with Waninkoko's Firmware Downgrader v1.11 yet? In the readme.txt he clearly states to change both Firmware Region _and_ Console Region. I assume the Firmware Downgrader can do this in one step? I don't want to get stuck with a semi-brick.

I am currently on 4.0 with HBC and cIOS installed and want to turn my PAL console into a NTSC console because DLC is much cheaper in $ than €.

i converted an NTSC to PAL. works ok but some pal games wont work on it but will if i use NTSC, weird or wot!

unlike unimode NTSC, PAL has different modes. Some PAL games require PAL50 (768x576) and can't work with PAL60 (640x480) and vice versa. After changing from NTSC to PAL, console becomes pure PAL and can not be distinguished from real PAL console (except serial number).
Hardware is the same for all regions.

...but have you used Waninkoko's fw downgrader to change your console region? I'm still not in the clear if it's possible to use this tool to convert from firmware 4.0E to 4.0U _and_ change the console region.

Yes, but as far as I know: if you change your firmware region, you have to change the console region too -- otherwise you end up with a semi-brick.

So my question remains: does Waninkoko's Firmware Downgrader allow you to change both in one step???

My Friend tried Changing his 4.0U wii to 4.0E with Firmware Downgrader.
He said his screen was Black and White and Constantly Flickering.
