Can I use the r4i save dongle (have it from back when you needed it for OOT savefile w/ gateway) instead of what is linked to on 3ds.guide "powersaves" https://amzn.to/2fb3VY7 when installing boot9strap on a fresh 3ds?

I will be reading up on the process but I couldn't find info on exactly what it's used for yet.

Cheers.

edit;

After reading up a bit it's an upcoming thing so maybe there's not sufficient info out yet !

If you're below 11.4, anything that will get you into ARM11 userland can get you ARM9 and install boot9strap. Soundhax works best, IIRC.

If you're on 11.4, wait until the NTR recovery mode stuff is done (some call it ntrboothax, some call it sleephax) and then get a compatible flashcard.

But whatever you do, turn off "send information to Nintendo" in System Settings before you do anything else!

Gotcha. Mostly curious because Im thinking of getting a japanese N2DS XL in the future and I saw they most likely come with 11.4 & I cant do the transfer thing due to eur->jpn
I'll be waiting for the ntrboothax/sleephax thing and keep an eye out on news regarding this.

Thanks :)
