Open-world Western adventure, 'Frontier Legends', to launch into Early Access this Spring

Developer Neojac Entertainment announced that Frontier Legends, their Wild West open-world adventure, will launch into Early Access on Steam and the Epic Games Store this spring.

Frontier Legends is a grand Wild West adventure where players start out as a greenhorn, fresh off the train, who aims to help colonize the rugged West. As a newly arrived settler, you forge your path as a hunter, bandit, trader, builder, lawman, or however you want to play. Fast-paced survival action is coupled with crafting and base-building, allowing players fixin’ to make a home, whether it’s a hidden bandit camp or a robust western town. Changing environments and weather, unscripted encounters, NPCs, and other players all combine to ensure no two playthroughs are alike.

Key features of Frontier Legends include:
  • Build Your Own Frontier Town - Start with a small camp and grow it into a thriving frontier settlement shaped by your leadership. Recruit NPC settlers and assign daily work farming, crafting, gathering and defense to keep your town running. Lead well and your community thrives; neglect it and the frontier will catch up.
  • Survival on the Edge of Civilization - The frontier is unforgiving. Manage core needs and resources as you brave a harsh wilderness where the elements, wildlife and outlaws can turn a day trip into a fight for survival. Dynamic weather, day-night cycles and changing conditions require you to adapt every time you ride out.
  • Forge Your Own Path - Live your Wild West fantasy your way. Become a hunter, trader, builder, bandit, lawman or something in between. Your choices shape your reputation in the frontier.
  • Tame and Ride Wild Horses - Discover wild horses roaming the land, then tame and train them into trusted companions. Each horse has unique attributes and abilities, making them valuable allies and key for traveling, surviving and thriving in the frontier. When in danger, a good mount can be the difference between making it home or meeting the business end of a barrel.
  • Explore and Uncover Mysteries - Push beyond your settlement to explore the unknown and uncover the hidden secrets of the frontier. Take on quests, solve puzzles and hunt legendary treasures as you explore ancient ruins and forgotten camps. Every discovery can change your fate and get you closer to becoming a legend yourself.
  • Work Together OR Turn on Each Other - Team up with others to trade, build and survive, or take the darker route: raid, betray and fight your way to a bigger slice of the frontier. Embark on your adventure with other players via cooperative multiplayer, participate in community events and compete in seasonal challenges to earn unique rewards and recognition.
There is no firm date for the Early Access availability, but Frontier Legends will be part of Steam Horse Fest between February 19- 23. A new demo is also set to arrive next month.

So tired of all the builder games, just give me a complete game with a story and character development.
I don't want to build houses, raise horse, etc.
I work for a living, don't want to turn on a game and do more chores.
There are so many survivor games, it's getting annoying.
Everybody trying to be the next Ark.

if its online only then its complete shit and not even worth advertising. these type of games should fail immediately. online only games are just manipulative scum games.
Well... Not looking good.

Hopefully it'll have its own identity than be known as "RDR Clone".
Pokemon with guns
RDR Minecraft edition
Let's be real, that's what Indie devs do the best. Take elements of games they loves, combine them, and make a whole new game.
TBH, that's exactly why patenting gameplay mechanics should never happen. There aren't a lot of "100% brand new mechanics" to be developped today. Combining existing ones into a new game is the best way to make a hit.

"Pokemon with Guns" is something that needed to happen no matter what. Hell, if Nintendo went with paintball guns it'd work too, but the problem is that they tried to completely ignore it.

No wonder they are so popular. And you may want to cut down on the caffeine before commenting.

I don't have a good impression of this developer given their catalogue on steam. They have 3 other games on steam, all of which are in early access. The oldest one they have is an early access game from 2017 (!) which is seemingly abandoned since the steam message on its store page states that the game hasn't been updated in over two years. In other words, they have yet to complete a game.

Yet they are making another early access game. I think I would rather take my chances at the casino.

100% agree.

The sad news is, this is the only type of game that seems to be on the horizon.

The damn publishers make so much money off of this...get people hooked on doing "simple" chores, then make the chores grindier and grindier, and THEN pull the rug out, make it EVEN GRINDIER, but then give people an option to PAY to AVOID the grind...and then profit...

I can't believe people spend thousands of hours on games like that. But, they do ¯\_ (ツ) _/¯

Wow, that looked fun, but one problem... Only on iOS. No Android or Console/PC release.

No wonder I wasn't aware of this gem.

On the contrary it actually did exist for both PC and Android. I know this because I briefly played it on Android back in the day 😅

Now I don't know if it will still work but the files are there
