I've still got my Erista Switch that I bought on ebay at the height of covid, for around 400 dollars. It has been a great little gaming device, and for the most part it still runs great, except for a tiny bit of burn-in on the upper left side of the screen (only visible when the screen is black though). However, I'm an easy mark/sucker for OLED screens, plus I've basically left this Switch on sleep mode 24 hours a day for the last five years so I have no idea how long it can last. So I'm interested in getting an OLED model.

I've been looking at places like ebay and I don't know if my search skills are lacking or what, but I can't seem to find an OLED model which has already been hacked/modded there. So, I'm asking you guuys. What sites would you say are the best to buy a modded OLED? Also, what price are they usually going for these days?

You got two options though either get one modded by paying someone or buying one modded, should be able to find one on ebay, facebook marketplace easily.
As thesjaakspoiler stated, you can't really find them on ebay. At least I couldn't. I think they changed their policy to where they no longer allow modded electronics.

Facebook marketplace is somewhere I'll go as a last resort, when I can't find one anywhere else. This is mainly because I live in an area with a "unique history". In other words it was basically ground zero for the opioid crisis. Then the federal government intimidated all the doctors from prescribing anything stronger than aspirin, which turned all the pillheads into methheads. This led to gangbangers from places like Detroit coming in to fill the void left by the doctors, and they brought violent crime with them. The entire tri-state area is like the set of a bad Mad Max-ripoff movie, especially if you wind up in a strange neighborhood (in the cities/towns) or hollers (in the country). But I'm rambling, and have somehow segued into writing my life story. My point is that trying to get something from fb marketplace is an "adventure".

Unlikely that you will find one on the bigger marketplaces as most of them consider modchips an illegal circumvention.
Why not get an OLED for decent price and send it in?
I think that ultimately I will have to go the send-in route. It's unfortunate that the bigger marketplaces no longer allow modchips.

Anyway, thanks for replying.

I didn't say it would be easy to find one, usually when one come up it doesn't last that long on ebay, it either get taken down or get sold on ebay. My recommendation would be to find out that is Hwfly V4 or an Instinct NX one over the RP2040 on the market, if you can find one that had Kamikaze dat0 then go for that, oled has a dat0 problem when it get loose using the adapter, unless you do permanent dat0.

Bit late but the dat0 adapter is pretty reliable as long as it’s done properly, most people just put it slightly up from the point because they don’t put pressure while soldering so it eventually stops working

I have definatley seen modded switch lites on AliExpress anthough their prices have slowly increased. I cant add the link but a search on the site with the word "modded" or "with modchip" may be worthwhile.

These are two stores on AliExpresss that sell modded switches;-
TIMEHARVEST STORE Store
8Bit Supply Store
