Hacking Old Gateway Clone

Hi everyone,

Just before the time of the Great Bricking, I bought two Gateway clones for my kids (the R4 card).

I never used them as they arrived two days after the Bricking stuff started, and it scared me away from the scene in general.

Now I'm wondering.... since there have been a number of new developments, are these cards useful at all, like to load CFW or anything like that?

You can load CFW without Gateway now, there's a number of alternatives you can make use of as long as your firmware is under 9.2.
However, if you updated past that, then there's not much you can do other than Homebrew (on firmwares under 10.2), or buying a Sky3DS, which of course has a lot more limitations than a Gateway or a CFW.

They can be used to (re)install the mset exploit.

As long is your firmware is AT OR BELOW 9.2
