Hey good people,

My 6 year old son recently dropped water in his switch and continued to play it until it probably shorted and failed to turn on or charge. I opened it up and attempted to clean the corrosion and contacts along with replacing the battery but it appears it's beyond my repair skills, so I resolved to buy a new switch, not realizing that they were patched and there currently is no solution to run CFW (I hear TX is releasing a hardmod possibly?). Super bummed, I came up with the idea of sending in the broken switch to Nintendo to be repaired. Does anyone know if Nintendo will simply replace the board with the updated patched one, or send me a patched refurb, in which case I'll just have two patched switches, which ain't all that bad but I'd rather just buy some games.

thanks for any help.

Nintendo, will replace the board with a patched one. Would need a 3rd party repair

bah, weak. Maybe I can just find a replacement bored on ebay then. I really think it's probably the charge port, but since it's soldered in, I doubt I could desolder and replace with my rudimentary skills. Thanks for the replay Kogmedia.
