Hardware Offical Nintendo 3DS Refurb Firmware?

I just purchased a refurbished Flame Red 3DS from Nintendo and I'll been wondering what firmware will be on it. Have any of you purchased an offical refurb? If so, what firmware version did it come with?

it may depended on when it was refurbished

it could have any fw, form the default FW for the Flame Red 3DS to the newest FW

I got a refurbished 3DS XL back in November and it had 4.5 on it. It was an official Nintendo refurb, but I got it from a brick and mortar store, so I don't have any idea how long it had been sitting on the shelf before I got it.
I'd imagine all the latest ones have the newest firmware on them (like new units), but I can't be sure.

It would make sense for them to update them at the time of refurbishing at least, but what firmware it will come with likely depends on A. if they update the 3DSes before shipping (in which case it will be the latest firmware) and B. when the 3DS in question was refurbished (as this will determine the firmware version if A is false).

Well, my 3DS gets here in a few days. I'll let you know what firmware it came with.

A Cosmo Black 3DS, which is one of the first two models that were available from launch. It came with the 3.0 firmware and I haven't updated it since then.

I bought one for my girlfriend for Christmas... purple refurb straight from Nintendo. It was on 4.5
