Im new to flashcarts. I was wondering, is it possible to put one cards firmware on another card. For example, r4 firware on dstt or acekard.

Certain firmwares are cross-compatible with certain devices, but there's no "rule of thumb" or anything about it.

not all flash cart firmware will work on another flash cart
there are exceptions such as
a) with the use of ysmenu for r4 utilise DSTT firmware
b) some r4 is a clone of DSTT/acekard hence you can use their firmware
c) ysmenu and DSTT firmware for SCDS1
