Hacking No Firmware upgrades for 3 months

If cssm is app that it is meant to be, nintendo might have to totally rework the wii to stop it. The thing is, the homebrew scene is obv growing. Eventually it'll get to the point where nintendo spams manditory update and actually changes the hardware in the wii to stop current chips. When that day comes, I'll just update to the latest cssm and all will be well.

If Nintendo revises the hardware to stop current chips, it would kill the current softmod too. The newest ribbon chips and the softmods use the same method.

I don't see not updating as a band aid right now. Can you tell me what benefit 3.4 has that those of us running 3.2 with cIOSCORP or a back up loader are missing out on at this very moment? According to wiibrew.org 3.4 is "Second attempt at blocking Twilight Hack. New EULA. Supposedly has speed fixes for DVD and SD access." and 3.3 "First attempt at blocking Twilight Hack. Shipped with fixed versions of IOS30, BC, MIOS".

Seems like all we got after 3.2 where mostly attempts at fixes to prevent the hacks we are currently using. I agree we might have to upgrade eventually to take advantage of some new feature, but I have faith that we'll have a way to get around them when they come.

I guess that makes sense, i guess i said it for personal reasons. I dont wnat to run the risk of bricking my wii downgrading. seeing as how its the family's wii, they probably kill me if I bricked it

DSi came out 4 months ago and IS homebrew-proof since then.
they don't do anything DSi now.

While IMO the up/downgraders and guides that are out there reduce the risk of screwing up and bricking, I agree there is a risk involved despite how minimal it is. Personally the rewards out weigh the risks for me, and understand they may not for everyone.

They are simply beta testing. IOS37 had to be beta tested 3 months before being deployed. And the funny fact is that it was an obsolete IOS at the time.

all things considered i think bushing & marcan will help out with a new exploit or an idea, if the twilight and so homebrew is gone. marcan wrote indirectly in a post months ago on hackmii.com ComeX has found a new exploit. unfortunately i don't have more pieces of information.... need to ask comex, huh?! ^^
But I don't think Ninty has given up yet: their wii is their big treasure!
