The popular music tracker for the NDS, NitroTracker, has gone open source. The original developer is asking for the community to help lend a hand. While it remains unclear if 0xtob is going to stop releasing updates, it is clear that he wants NitroTracker to live on! It's not announcing the homebrew- it's announcement about it being opensource. Which means updates are more likely.

Fantastic! No homebrew gets more use in my DS than NitroTracker.

Nowhere near perfect, no synth, not enough effects, no parameter commands e.g. retrigger etc.

This is great news, hopefully we will see updates soon.

Currently enjoying Sunvox on the iPhone but the UI is kinda awkward. DS gamepad is really nice for entering tracker commands

I can't wait to see where this leads! Heck, I'm gonna open this thing up this afternoon, see how it ticks, and how I can make it tock!
